AIM

To identify the minimum militarily credible RN force afloat in Hong Kong which would enable maritime related tasks defined by CDS's Directive to the Commander British Forces Hong Kong to be executed throughout the period until final withdrawal of the Garrison on 30 June 1997.

SCOPE

The paper will consider the requirement, identify options for types/numbers of vessels and timescales to meet it with consequent effects on support, manpower and financial resources.
