1. As you are probably aware, there has been much thrashing around trying to light on acceptable Chinese-English equivalents to rename the Police Tactical Unit-Border Detachment in Hong Kong. I attach a copy of Hong Kong telno 1009 which has come up with a suggestion which would seem to avoid Chinese sensitivities on the nature of the

'border' and the flow of 'illegal immigration' across it. Grateful for your views.
