APPENDIX 2 TO ANNEX D TO ATTACHMENT TO COSSEC 108/756 DATED 14 APR 89

NAVY CRITICAL PLANNING DATES - FACTORS

1.

Lead Times. Lead times for decisions will be influenced by a number of factors including the following:

Drafting. It is an accepted condition of RN service that personnel are given a minimum of 6 months advance notice of any draft. Every effort should be made to maintain this lead time and improve upon it whenever possible.

a.

Financial Implications. The financial situation relating to RN assets in Hong Kong is complex and any decision resulting in a requirement to sell or transfer assets may involve Hong Kong as well as UK financial authorities. One Year is the minimum time required between a finite decision to sell or transfer assets and implementation of that decision.

b.

C.

LEPS/LECS. Lead decision will be dependent on the schemes of redundancy to be determined for LEPs/LECs.
