I have the honour to refer to the Agreement relating to the International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation 'INTELSAT', signed at Washington on 20 August 1971 and ratified by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain ayd Northern Ireland on 16 February 1972.

On instructions from Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, I have the honour to inform you that it is Her Majesty's Government's intention that British Telecomunications public limited company should take over all the rights and obligations of British Telecommunications under the Agreement relating to the International Telecommunicatious Satellite Organisation, 'INIELSAT, and the Operating Agreement. Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of Article 11(b) and Article XVI (1) of the Agreement, I hereby give notice that the Coverment of the Ued Kingdan of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have designated British Telecommunications public limited company to be their Signatory to the Operating Agreement in substitution for British Telecœuunications which signed the Operating Agrement on 10 December 1981.
