ensure adequate control of the staff employed there and to afford requisite facilities for consultation with clients.

Similar provision is made in Rule 4A of the Solicitors' Practice Rules.

Return of employees

5.29

A foreign lawyer who has or who has had, in his employment personally or in partnership with another foreign lawyer any clerk, interpreter or other employee (excluding any employee who is a foreign lawyer) should once a year at the same time as he applies for his practising certificate furnish to the Secretary to the Council a declaration (particulars of employees) in the form of Form 1 of the Schedule to the Solicitors' Practice

Rules.

5.30

Except upon formal resolution of the Council, the particulars of employees furnished under paragraph 5.29 should not be disclosed by the Secretary to the Council to any person other than the President, the Vice-President and the executive staff of the Council.

5.31

Where 2 or more foreign lawyers are in

partnership in a foreign law firm the particulars of employees under paragraph 5.29 may be furnished by one partner on behalf of the other partners.

Solicitors'

Similar provision is made in Rule 5 of the

Practice Rules.

Professional conduct of foreign lawvers

5.33

A foreign lawyer should at all times conduct himself in accordance with the professional and business ethics expected of a solicitor.
