Prohibition of use on nameplate or stationery of name other than foreign law firm
5.15
A foreign lawyer employed by or in partnership with a foreign law firm should not, without the consent of the Society, permit to appear on his nameplate or to be printed on his professional stationery a firm name other than that duly registered in accordance with the proposed new provisions of the Ordinance.
5.16
A foreign lawyer should not permit to appear on his nameplate or to be printed on his professional stationery the name of any person other than a solicitor or foreign lawyer or foreign law firm for whom he is employed or in partnership. Provided that this rule should not preclude
(a)
(b)
the appearance in the style or name of a foreign lawyer's practice of the name of a predecessor
or former partner in that practice;
the use of a style or firm name
(c)
(i) in use at the date of the coming into
operation of this rule; or
(ii) approved in writing by the Council; or
the appearance in name of any other solicitor or foreign lawyer employed by the firm.
