Registration as a foreign lawyer

4.8

Upon the making of an order that the applicant be admitted and enrolled as a foreign lawyer the Registrar should enter the name of the foreign lawyer in a Roll of

Foreign Lawyers.

4.9

The Registrar should deliver to every person who is admitted as a foreign lawyer, as soon as is practicable after the admission of such person, a certificate of

admission.

Application for an order permitting a foreign law firm to practise in Hong Kong

4.10

Any person seeking to apply for permission for a foreign law firm to practise in Hong Kong should be required

(a) to give the Society notice and to pay a fee to

be prescribed;

to file with the Registrar a motion paper to move the court on a date to be fixed by the Registrar which should not be less than 14 days after the filing of the motion paper; and

to pay to the Registrar a required fee.

Every motion paper should be accompanied by

the consent in writing to be signed by all the partners of the firm to the establishment of a branch office in Hong Kong in accordance with a form to be prescribed;
