Meeting on Mutual Legal Assistance
For reference I attach a copy of the draft MLA treaty tabled by the Deputy US Consul General on 28 November 1988. I understand that this is being looked at in Chambers.
I have had a brief meeting with Mr. Newall of LO(SD)'s office, which raised a number of points about our general strategy and about the draft. Notes of this meeting are attached.

A meeting will be held on 27 January at 2.30 p.m. in the Security Branch conference room. The purpose is to discuss the draft US agreements, considering the points raised by Mr. Newall, together with any other questions arising from the draft. Addressees are invited to attend.
