REPATRIATION OF VIETNAMESE BOAT PEOPLE FROM HONG KONG

Lord Brabazon has been following with interest the exchanges about the continuing programme of voluntary repatriation of Vietnamese boat people from Hong Kong and the proposed move to repatriation of non-volunteers.

1.

2.

Lord Brabazon has noted the proposal that aircraft be chartered for this purpose from Dragonair or, failing that, the less satisfactory option of foreign charters.

He hopes, however, that as and when this process gets underway to the extent that it becomes a viable commercial proposition (ie a minimum of two or three flights per week), the business will be offered to British charter operators.
