1 A Ministerial Visits Committee meeting will be held on Monday 10 July to consider possible future visits by the Prime Minister and Secretary of State which would meet our overall foreign policy objectives.
2 In accordance with Circular 197/88 of 4 July (copy attached), departments are asked to provide a list of visits proposed for the period September 1989 to Summer 1990 (tabulated by visitor with an indication of how firm the plans are).
3 The list of proposed visits should be submitted through AUSS to DUSS (side copied to Protocol Department) by Friday 30 June. Although the MVC will not consider visits by junior FCO Ministers, it is useful to have a scheme of their proposed travel. Departments should therefore also submit an outline of the travel their Ministers might be recommended to make in the year September 1989 to August 1990.
