The information specified at (a) (f) should be reported well in advance of the officer's visit mnd should not be held up until (g) is finalised. No 8 latter can be communicated later. Any changes should be notified at once. In the case of departmenta whose officers travel overseas frequently Branch Secretaries may at their discretion, authorize the Head of Department to communicate direct with the British representative in the countries concerned. Copias of such communications should be sent to the Political. Adviser for his information.

(2) In the case of an officer going on duty to Brussels, Geneva, New York or Washington, where offices of the Hong Kong Government are maintained, the information required in paragraph (1) above should be sent in the first instance to the Hong Kong Government offices concemed, who should be requested to inform the appropriate British Mission. For officers going on duty to the United Kingdom, the information should be sent to the Hong Kong Government Office in London and the Hong Kong Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth

Office, and should include information on the officer's availability for recruitment interviews, etc. In the case of those going on duty to Australia or New Zealand, the information should be repeated to the Hong Kong Government Recruitment Office in Auckland in the form set out in CSR 1179(4).
