Re-exports of Taiwan origin to China

In 1988 re-exports of Taiwan origin amounted to HK$21.2 billion or 7.7% of Hong Kong's total re-exports. Of this total, 82% or HK$17.5 billion were re-exported to China. Both in absolute and in relative terms, China is an important market for Hong Kong's re-exports of Taiwan origin. The value of re-exports of Taiwan origin to China in 1979 was only HK$0.1 billion but represented 12% of Hong Kong's re-exports of Taiwan origin in that year.
