As I have indicated, for the purpose of putting up a marker on the UK wish to abandon the MOFERT system in the context of all China AES (there was no other suitable opportunity) we made a statement to the effect that we may (not 'would' as stated) look for some other form of certification. (See Para 110 of the Record of Discussion). For the time being I suspect that we are stuck with some form of MOFERT certification, unless we can think of something better.
5. I have asked Tony Steadman to consider what form of licence we might issue and it would be useful if he or his
representative could attend our meeting. Unfortunately I cannot meet your Tuesday 25 April suggestion but would offer 11 am Wednesday 26 April if that is convenient for all parties. Perhaps you will confirm on your return from leave?
