The respondents who are positive towards the political future of Macau and those who are not confident mark an even split. Nevertheless, they tend to give mild opinion rather than being extreme as the majority of answers given (84%) are "quite confident" (44%) or "not quite confident" (40%).

In the Chinese society, the 40+ age group show greatest confidence towards the political future while the more highly educated people (secondary completed or above) are much less

confident than those who are less educated.
