shall protect The provision " the right of private ownership of property in accordance with - law" may be construed as
departing from the binding obligation envisaged by JD 18 (which says
will be
protected by law") by allowing the law to be modified to reduce the degree of protection of
property rights. The expression "by law" would have more
inhibitive effect on attempts to lessen protection to private property.
Suggest to revise this Art. along the lines of JD 18: "Rights of ownership of private property shall be protected by law."
