HONG KONG INQUIRY

Mr Wilson, Clerk to the FAC, telephoned me this morning to say the Committee had accepted 1 December as the publication date for our interim response to their Report on Hong Kong.

2.

Mr Wilson also confirmed that the Committee would wish to take follow-up evidence from Mr Maude on the morning of Wednesday 13 December; our interim reply would form the basis of this session.

3.

It is possible that the Committee may wish to take further evidence on Hong Kong from the Secretary of State in the New Year.
