This paper contains the Government's observations on
this report (HC281-I of 28 June 1989).
The Government
are most grateful for the Committee's work on the report, The report
which is a valuable contribution to policy on issues of
major concern to Hong Kong. The report offers a
thoughtful analysis of the issues, and makes a series of
important recommendations for the administration of Hong
Kong up to 1997 and beyond.

Committee's report:
