My Rt Hon Friend the Prime Minister and I discussed the future of Hong Kong with the Australian Prime Minister during his recent

visit. I have also been in touch with my Australian and Canadian counterparts who will attend this week's Economic

Summit in Paris. We shall raise the matter there and at the

Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in the autumn.
