It was pointed out to us that identity cards have
these
already been issued by the Hong Kong Government and have only been issued to people of Chinese origin carry three small stars and when they are not of Chinese
origin they do not.
We had a communication to this Committee which went
as follows:
"I and my family" a Hong Kong person writing
"are of European
bulk
a non-ethnic minority person origin and are now coded separately from the
of residents of Hong Kong.
I am not entitled to
right of abode in the UK and I am also not
entitled to the full benefits of Hong Kong or
Chinese nationality. "
What are we going to do about these people who seem
to be in danger of being left in the interstices of
policy policy and without any home or state?
