Similar representations have been made about this.

Again, a widow does have to qualify in her own right under

the immigration rules unless the compassionate

circumstances of her case justify admitting her outside

the rules.

This is an area in which you may feel it appropriate

to make recommendations to us, but the position in those

cases is very clearly laid down in the rules.

MR. TED ROWLANDS:

Again, would you have a sort of reasonably open and

athetic mind if we made such recommendations?

I think that on the particular widows' point, other

than the war widows, we do have to measure up the facts of

each case and we have to compare the position of those

coming from one country with another but, you know,

certainly rule our our looking at it very carefully.
