MR. TIK RENTON:
We are often told that, Mr. Taylor, but I have to
say that when we make specific enquiries we find it rather
hard to put our finger precisely on where the differences
lie, but I think you have asked the Foreign Secretary for
a specific memorandum on this point.
XR. IAN TAYLOR:
I think we have asked for clarification.
MR. TED ROWLANDS:
May I just...my own; which comes out of what you
have just said, Minister.
In many other cases of immigration or coming here to
settle, there are usually mums and dads here or a real
genuine kinship.
Have the Office got any assessment of the kinship
ties between the population of Hong Kong and people here,
Is there much of a kinship filial
parents here?
parental connection between a large number of Hong Kong
people and family here, as we have got obviously from
other parts of the world?
MR. TIN RENTON:
I am not aware of any, but I will ask Mr. Morris or
Mr. Harrington if they are.
