possible that
HMG
would
introduce
sterling safeguards for
overseas pensioners who were members of
the Majesty's Overseas Civil Service
(HMOCS), in the form of 2 Public
Officers' Agreement Or something
similar.
DECISION
that
The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED
(a)
no
measures
should be
introduced
at
this stage to protect the value of
pensions paid overseas against currency
fluctuations;
(b) further research should be conducted on
possible schemes to safeguard pensions
paid
overseas
fluctuations;
against
extreme
(c) thought should be given as to what sort
of relief, if any, could be given in
individual cases of genuine hardship,
and the Council's advice sought in due
course;
