Robert Wilson has been the principal Clerk of the Foreign Affairs Committee since 1987. Clerk of the Environment Committee (1986-87); and of the European Legislation Committee (1981-85). Joined the Department of the Clerk of the House as an Assistant Clerk in 1967, and was promoted senior Clerk (1972) and Deputy Principal Clerk (1981). Secretary of the UK Delegations to the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe and Western European Union and to the North Atlantic Assembly (1974-77). Joint Secretary of the Association of Secretaries-General of Parliaments (IPU) 1977-83. Born 8 July 1946. Educated at Lancing College and Christ Church, Oxford (Honours Degree in Modern History). Unmarried.

Philip Moon has been Committee Assistant to the Foreign Affairs Committee since February 1988. Before that he was Committee Assistant to the Transport Committee (1985-88) and to the Public Accounts Committee (1979-85). Joined the Department of the Clerk of the House in 1968, promoted to Chief Office Clerk (1976) Higher Executive Officer (1986) Senior Executive Officer (1988) Secretary of Houses of Parliament Sports and Social Club 1971-1988. Born 1 October 1943. Educated at Downer Grammar School. Married: 2 sons: Interests: Travel, Motoring, Transport; Music, Theatre.

Mark Hutton has been the Assistant Clerk of the Foreign Affairs Committee since March 1987. Previously he was Assistant Clerk to the Transport Committee (1985-1987), He joined the Department of the Clerk of the House in 1985. Born 7 October 1959. Educated at Shrewsbury School and New College, Oxford (Honours Degree in English Language and Literature). Married.
