Principal Working Assumptions
7.
At various stages of the PADS studies, it has been necessary to make a number of working assumptions to use as а basis for shaping strategic development proposals. Some of the more significant assumptions are briefly as follows :
(a) Possible Timing of a Replacement Airport
(i) It is assumed that for Scenarios B and C, the
aim should be to construct a new airport as
soon as practicable. Current indications are
that it could take at least 8 years to build a
new airport at Chek Lap Kok and about 10 years for a new airport in the Western Harbour.
