The Public Records Office (PRO) Hong Kong is the

central repository for the permanent archives of the

Hong Kong Government and in addition is responsible for the

storage, management and ultimate disposal of non-current

offical records in its custody. The PRO was established in

1972 and is directed by an Archivist who is responsible to

the Chief Secretary through the Deputy Chief Secretary.

The PRO consists of one head office in Central and

2 sub-offices in Aberdeen.
