LEGAL REPORT

COMPLEX COMMERCIAL CRIMES ORDINANCE 1988

(No. 57 of 1988)

The purpose of this Ordinance is to introduce a new procedure for the trial of complex commercial crimes. The purpose of the preparatory hearing is to settle points of law and clarify points of law for the jury.

2. The object of the new procedures, which are mainly contained in Part III, is to reduce the length and the cost of the prosecution and trial of complex commercial crimes by providing a more logical manner of proceeding.

3.

Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
