This Ordinance amends the Interpretation and
General Clauses Ordinance in two respects.

Section 18(1), which permits the addition of a reference to imperial enactments in marginal notes in Ordinances, is amended so that references to imperial enactments can be placed as a footnote to the section. Section 18(3), which states that marginal notes do not have any legislative effect, is expanded to include "section headings". (The present practice of placing notes in the margin will be discontinued in favour of notes as section headings.)
Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
