THE WIDENING FUTURE OF INTERNATIONAL LEGAL COOPERATIVE WORK The Ministry of Justice has been designated as the Central Body to carry out International Legal Cooperation for our Country.
In 1987 our country's international legal cooperative work had an excellent beginning. In 1988, apart from the legal co- operation and agreements which are currently being carried out in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and three or four countries that have expressed interest in concluding treaties, it is intended to emphasise the mastering of the theory and practice of international legal cooperation, as well as preparing to implement those treaties already signed once they have come into effect and carry out the instruction of concerned organisations and units.
Accordingly, in the past year China has already concluded legal cooperation agreements with France, Poland and Belgium. Of these the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has approved the Sino-French and Sino-Polish agreements, which is a step forward in legal cooperation and legal exchange with these countries.
The Ministry of Justice has now been designated as the central body to carry out international legal cooperation for our country.
