it is desirable that residents of Hong Kong

aware of pending proceedings;

in serving documents for jurisdictions

other than China, Hong Kong does not

enquire as to the consequences in the

requesting jurisdiction;

Hong Kong's own laws provide, albeit in

modified form, for some travel restrictions

in the context of civil proceedings and

where departure from Hong Kong is found to

be intended for the purpose of avoiding

liabilities;

those who do business in Guangdong should

expect to be subject to its laws; and

failure to agree to serve this document

may, in effect, well cause the whole

proposal to co-operate with the Guangdong

Courts to be aborted, since, according to

the Chinese representatives, service of

this document is a condition precedent to

all that follows in their civil procedure.
