High Court Action Number 7858 of 1985.
All of the Defendants were accused of Breach of Duty as professional advisers, Negligence, Conspiracy, Breach of Fiduciary Duties, and, Contribution and/or Indemnity in relation to the claims by Carrian Investments Ltd in 2 High
Court Actions in 1985.
In June 1986 Mr R.P.M.Purvis and Ms Anne Purvis filed
High Court Action Number 3552, claiming Damages against Johnson Stokes and Master for alleged Negligence and/or Breach of Contract while acting as solicitors to the First Plaintiff and advising him on tax and other matters.
Luxart Ltd filed High Court Action 3552 in June 1987, naming Johnson Stokes and Master as Second Defendant and its client, Great China Match Company Ltd, as First Defendant, in a dispute which arose concerning the sale of some property in Peng Chau.
The Plaintiff claimed that all monies paid, including the stakeholder's funds which were held by Johnson Stokes and Master, should have been returned to it when the agreement for purchase fell through.
Luxart claimed 'return' of $HK2,400,000, with interest thereon, and Damages from Johnson Stokes and Master for Breach of Duties as stakeholder.
Yu, Tsang and Loong has also appeared 3 times in the High Court in the last 5 years.
In High Court Action Number 8158 of 1986, Mr Tsang Chi Sung alleged that when the firm was assigned to assist him by the Legal Aid Department, the Defendant inordi- nately delayed the proceedings, a delay which allegedly resulted in the loss of compensation which he therefore
claimed from the solicitors as Dam- ages, along with interest and costs.
Yu, Tsang and Loon returned to the High Court in 1986 in Action Number 5284 when another Legal
Aid referral, Mr Andrew Ngan Yuk Kuen, claimed that he had suffered 'severe mental anguish, frustration, vexation and anxiety as a result of the Defendant's Negligence and/or Breach of Contract and claimed
Damages.'
The firm made its latest appear- ance as Defendant in High Court Action Number 13 of 1988, when
International Peaceful Interests Ltd
claimed Damages for Negligence and/or Breach of Contr. concerning matters arising from the re-development of Numbers 78-83, Connaught Road, Central.
Kwong and Lam was also called to the High Court 3 times in 1988 in Miscellaneous Proceedings Numbers 30, 31, and 32, all for Orders.

TARGET bestows upon the partners of Yung, Yu, Yuen and Company the honour of third place, as this firm ap- peared thrice in 1984, once in 1986 and yet again in 1987 as
sole Defendants.
Mr Dung Jak Sang filed High Court Action Number 4877 on July 19, 1984, claiming Damages for the Defendant's alleged Negligence in acting as the Plaintiff's solicitor re- garding the purchase of some property in Kowloon.
Ms Nancy Lam Wei Kam filed Action Number 4921 in 1984 the following day, when she alleged that Yung, Yu, Yuen and Company had acted in Breach of Duty to her, the Plaintiff, when the Defendant failed to register an Assign- ment for the purchase of a flat in Happy Valley.
The Plaintiff further claimed that she had not been properly advised as to possible defects in the agreement to purchase the property, and as a result of these supposed failures by her solicitors, she claimed that she had been unable to resell the property for a profit, and so claimed Damages.

High Court Action Number 7284, by the Plaintiff, Mr Wong Yau Tak.
The Plaintiff claimed that the
Defendant (a) allowed an unquali- fied person to give legal advice, (b) forged a clause in the Agreement of Sale and Purchase, and (c) failed to advise the Plaintiff to seek separate legal advice as the Defendant was also alleged acting on behalf of the vendor of the property.
As a result, the Plaintiff claimed Damages for Negligence, Tort of Deceit and/or Fraud, interest and
costs.
