SOCIETIES (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) BILL 1988

Amend the Societies Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Societies (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1988.

Section 2(1) of the Societies Ordinance is amended by adding after the definition of "triad ritual"—

"Triad

"“Tribunal” means the Triad Renunciation Tribunal established by

section 26A.".

3. The following sections are added after section 26—

Renunciation Tribunal

26A. (1) There is established a tribunal to be known as the Triad Renunciation Tribunal which shall consist of constitution and a Chairman and such number of other members as the

Governor considers appropriate for the time being.

(2) The Tribunal shall carry out the functions and duties imposed on it by this Ordinance.

(3) The Chairman of the Tribunal shall convene meet- ings of the Tribunal when required to enable it to perform its functions.

(4) Subject to this Ordinance, the Tribunal may deter- mine its own procedure.
