An Ordinance to amend the Employees' Compensation Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Employees' Compensa- Short title and tion (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.

(2) Sections 4(a) and (b), 5, 6, 9, 10, 12 and 13 shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

Section 11 of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance is amend- Method of ed by adding after subsection (7)———

"(7A) An employee shall, at the written request of his employer, (Cap. 282) give his employer sufficient written information to enable the employer to comply with section 40 regarding any of the employee's concurrent contracts of service referred to in subsection (7) that are then in force or subsequently entered into.

(7B) Subsection (7) does not apply where an employee fails to comply with subsection (7A).”.
