18. (1) Notwithstanding the repeal of---

(a) section 32(1)(e) of the Ordinance by section 14(d); and

(b) sections 33, 34 and 36 to 44 of the Ordinance by section 15(1),

those provisions shall, in the case of an application for an ex gratia payment made under section 43 of the Ordinance prior to the specified date, continue to apply to such application to the same extent that they applied im- mediately before their repeal.

(2) In this section "specified date" means a date specified by the Governor by notice in the Gazette for the purposes of this section.
