(e) by repealing the definition of "licensing court" and substituting-

"licensing court" means—

(a) a magistrate sitting alone; or

(b) a magistrate sitting with 2 assessors,

as the case may be, in accordance with section 10, 14 or 15;":

(f) in the definition of "money lender" by repealing "include a person

specified in Part 1 of the First Schedule;" and substituting -

Schedule 1

"include-

(a) a person specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1; or

(b) as respects a loan specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1,

any person who makes such loan;"; and

(g) by adding after the definition of "Registrar"-

(Cap. 32)

""subsidiary" means subsidiary within the meaning of sec-

tion 2 of the Companies Ordinance.".

(2) Section 2(2) is amended by repealing "the Second Schedule" and substituting "Schedule 2".

(3) Section 2 is amended by adding after subsection (3)—–

"(4) References in this Ordinance to an assessor are references to a person appointed to a panel of assessors under section 7A of the Magistrates Ordinance.”.

Section 3 is repealed and the following substituted--

This Ordinance shall not apply to-

(a) an authorized institution within the meaning of the

Banking Ordinance; or

(b) as respects a loan made to such an authorized institution, any person who makes such loan.".

Section 4(2)(a) is amended by repealing "issue" and substituting

(a) in paragraph (a) by repealing "or"; and

(b) by repealing paragraph (b) and substituting—

"(b) to the disclosure of information with a view to the institution of, or otherwise for the purposes of, any criminal proceedings;

(c) in connection with any civil proceedings arising out of, or relating to, section 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 33, 33B or 36; or
