An Ordinance to amend the Medical Registration Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Medical Registration (Amend- Short title and ment) Ordinance 1988 and shall come into operation on a day to be commencement. appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended in the definition of Amendment of "Chairman" by inserting before the semicolon the following-

"and includes any person elected to act as Chairman under section 3A(4)".

3. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in subsection (2)—

(i) in paragraph (f), by deleting the full stop and substituting a semicolon;

(ii) by inserting after paragraph (f) the following-

"(g) a lay member to be appointed by the Governor."; and

(b) in subsection (3), by deleting "or (f)" and substituting the

following-

section 2.

Amendment of section 3.

4.

Section 3A of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by Repeal and the following-

replacement of section 3A.
