(h) imposing on such guardians and on public officers such duties as may be necessary or expedient in the interests of patients;

(i) any matter which may be prescribed under the regula-

tions by section 35(4);

(j) the application of Part III to a patient transferred in the

manner described in section 35(4);

(k) any matters required or permitted to be prescribed by

this Ordinance; and

(1) generally, the carrying into effect of the provisions of this

Ordinance.";

(b) by inserting after subsection (2) the following-

"(3) Regulations under subsection (1)(g) and (h) may in particular make provision for requiring the patients to be visited on behalf of the Director of Social Welfare, on such occasions or at such intervals as may be prescribed and may provide for the appointment, in the case of every patient subject to the guardianship of a person other than the Director of Social Welfare, of a registered medical practi- tioner to act as the medical attendant of the patient.".

32. The principal Ordinance is amended in sections 9, 22, 23 and 44 by deleting "the Colony" wherever it occurs and substituting the following

“Hong Kong”.

33. (1) The Criminal Procedure Ordinance is amended—

Substitution of "Hong Kong"

for "the Colony".

Consequential amendments.

(a) in section 2, in the definition of "hospital order" by inserting after (Cap. 221.)

"45," the following--

"49,";

(b) in paragraph 2 of the Fourth Schedule by inserting after "that

Ordinance" the following-

"without an endorsement under subsection (1A) of that section";

(c) in the Fifth Schedule-

(i) in paragraph 2 by inserting after "specified in the order" the following-

“and without an endorsement under subsection (1A) of that section";

(ii) in paragraph 3 by deleting "detention and" and substitut- ing the following-

"admission for";

(d) in paragraph 1 of the Seventh Schedule by inserting after "sec-

tions" the following-

"52A,”.
