ANNEX

Provisional Procedure for Readmission, Reception and Reintegration of

Vietnamese Refugees and Asylum Seekers who Apply for Repatriation

to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

In the implementation of paragraph 3 of the present Memorandum of Understanding, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and UNHCR have agreed on the following provisional procedure which will be reviewed and revised as required.

I.

Filling of application and predeparture arrangements

In the context of voluntary repatriation of refugees and asylum

seekers, UNHCR will interview each applicant in order to ensure

the strictly voluntary character of each application for repatriation and will establish a dossier which would include the original and three photocopies of UNHCR standard voluntary application form, duly completed by the applicant or in the case of children below age 18 by the parent(s), next of kin or legal

guardian.

2.

Medical examination of candidates will be done in the country of

first asylum and a certificate established.
