Dear Sir,
I am very much alarmed about the allegations of ill-treatment of Vietnamese asylum seekers at Hei Ling Chau on July the 19 1988. I earnestly hope that an investigation will be instituted.
Such grave allegations must be taken seriously and investergated, if not Hong Kong's name will be soiled in the eyes of the world.
I find it exceedingly distressing if the Government tacitly accepts ill-treatment of refugees, which already have been living distressed lives, on the run, leaving their country home and beloved ones behind. What they need is help, not ill-treatment. and further pursuit.
I sincerely beleave that you shall take the necessary prevent such incidents in the future.
After all, a
steps to
civilized countrie lives by the principles withheld in the Declaration of Human Rights, drawn out the benefit of us all.
Yours most sincerly,
