The Hong Kong government is ending its policy of automatically
accepting all arrivals from Vietnam as legitimate refugees

follows a huge increase in the number arriving there this year.
Thursday, only those fleeing from political persecution will be
accepted
and not those who left Vietnam simply in search of a
better life. Those judged to be illegal immigrants will be
repatriated once suitable guarantees have been received from
