HKD feel that it would be useful for a specific reference to be made to the aim of persuading the Vietnamese to accept back Vietnamese boat people not regarded as refugees; perhaps this could be included in point 4 of the political long term objectives.

A shorter-term political objective could also be added; to persuade the Vietnamese to speed up their processing of voluntary repatriation applications.
