I have the honour to refer to the decisions of the recent informal meeting on Indo-Chinese asylum-seekers in South East Asia held in Bangkok on 27-28 October 1988.

In the course of this meeting it was decided, inter alia to convene another round of consultations in Kuala Lumpur in early December with a view to making further progress in the preparation of the international conference which will be convened next year.

I have the honour to invite the participation of your Government to these informal consultations to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 7 to 9 December 1988.

I would be grateful if your Mission could inform UNHCR (attention: Regional Bureau for Asia and Oceania, telephone 398300) of the composition of your Government's representation as soon as possible.
