HONG KONG
27 October 1988
Dear Sirs and Madams,
I refer to your joint letter dated
11 October 1988 to the Governor and am authorised to reply to it on his behalf.
The points that you have raised regarding British Government's policy on Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong are noted. Your views have also been passed on to the British Government for consideration.
You may also wish to know that the British Government is continuing to carry out its commitment, made in March 1987, to resettle 468 named Vietnamese refugees from Hong Kong. We understand that the possibility of a further resettlement commitment is kept under review by the British Government which will take all relevant factors into account.
Yours faithfully,
fui
