BUSINESS STATEMENT: 21 OCTOBER

1. Mr Wakeham announced the consideration in Committee of the European Communities (Finance) Bill and its remaining stages (24 October and 27 October respectively).

2.

Following the Statement:

a) Mr Amery asked for a debate on Northern Ireland;

b)

Mr Campbell asked for a debate on drugs in sport;

c)

Sir Philip Goodhart asked for a debate or statement on the Vietnamese boat people.

3.

The Leader of the House has asked for a line to take and background on the Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong. Could HKD please let me have this by noon on Wednesday 26 October.
