I am
Thank you for your letter of 11 August to Alan Paul. replying on his behalf during his absence on leave.
It is our common objective to settle the future of war graves in Hong Kong in good time before 1 July 1997. As Alan said in his letter of 16 February, we are pursuing the matter with the Hong Kong Government. We understand that their internal deliberations are coming to a conclusion.
We are aiming to establish a detailed approach for discussions with the Chinese side within the next couple of months. We will be
in touch again in due course.
Yours sincerely,
تھا
