Tuesday, December 29 The long-awaited Herwell report outlining contingency plans for possible accidents at the Daya Bay nuclear power plant would probably be released in the middle of February, Radio-1, Radio-3 and many papere reported.
The report, which contained about-200-pages, was now being studied by Government officials who wanted to ensure that it was in perfect shape before it was translated and sent to the Government Printer.
The public was expected to have access to its contents in six to seven weeks' time when 5 000 copies would be made available to interested parties, the media and councillors.
Half of the copies would be in English and the other half would
be in Chinese,
Ta Kung Pao reported from Shenzhen that the Chinese National Nuclear Safety Administration would issue a full-scale construction permit to the Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Company on January 7 for the construction of the Daya Bay plant.
The paper noted that the construction of the plant would enter an important etage following the issuing of the permit.
