A BILL

To

Amend the Emergency Relief Fund Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Emergency Relief Fund Short title (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.

2. Section 5(2) of the Emergency Relief Fund Ordinance is amended Establishment by repealing "Secretary for City and New Territories Administration" of committee wherever it occurs and substituting "Secretary for District Administration". (Cap. 1103)

Section 10(3) is amended by repealing "30 September" and sub- Accounts. stituting "31 December".

4. Section 11 is amended by repealing "the Colony" wherever it Cost of occurs and substituting "Hong Kong".

Explanatory Memorandum

The main purpose of this Bill is to extend the last date for tabling the audited statement of accounts and annual report of the Emergency Relief Fund in the Legislative Council from 30 September to 31 December. This allows more time for preparing the annual report and the statement of accounts and for auditing of the accounts. This is done in clause 3.
