REGISTRATION DOCUMENT OF THE SINO-BRITISH JOINT DECLARATION

1. The Hong Kong Government have informed us that a PR Consultant has been engaged by one of their departments to develop a new presentation list with audio visual aids.

One brief shot they would like to include is the registration document (done at the UN on 12 June 1985) of the Joint Declaration on the future of Hong Kong.

3. I would be grateful for your advice on whether it would be possible for the consultant to photograph the document at the UN, or alternatively a copy of the document if this is held by NTD.

As I explained to you on the telephone this morning, the original of the registration document which was registered at the UN on 12 June 1985 is with the United Nations. Our file contains only a photocopy of the Certificate, a copy of which I attach.
