Please refer to your minute of 4 November about the likely timings of the Senior Representative's (SR) posting to Hong Kong.

1.

2. We have already placed an order for the Residence Domestic Equipment (RDE), which may take up to eight months to supply, with The Crown Agents in Hong Kong. This consists of:-

(i) Cutlery and Plate

(ii)

Table glassware

(iii)

Table chinaware

(iv)

Linen and towels

(v)

Kitchen and service equipment.

And accords with the entitlement laid down in Frances Gear's minute of 8 September.

3. The next step is to consider questions of Hong Kong accommodation and residential furniture for the SR. We have already been in contact with BTC Hong Kong on accommodation, and learned that it will be difficult to locate a suitable Iproperty.

4. On the question of residential furnishing it would be helpful for us

to have an early steer from the SR designate to enable us to react in good time. Delivery times on furniture varies according to the ranges ordered. Mr Foley, design and furniture officer in OED, is available to give advice on this point.

5. We are concerned to keep a finger on the pulse of this project and would be grateful if all correspondence continues to be copied to OED. Please let me know when the SRS arrival date in Hong Kong firms up and also when the PA is due to arrive.
