VISIT BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO HONG KONG

1. I have consulted the Private Office over the class of my travel

on the return flight from Hong Kong with the Secretary of State on

31 May.

2.

Private Office say that there is no operational requirement for

me to travel first class so as to be within reach of the Secretary of

State. But they assume that I will find it necessary to go into the

office on the day of our return to London to cope with the follow-up

to the visit. On that basis they are content that I should invoke

DSP 22.11.11.2 and travel first class.
