6. Protocol Department have done further research and have produced alternative itineraries depending on whether the Secretary of State travels by commercial flights (which I have assumed) or uses an RAF VC10 (Miss Davies' minute of 7 April).
7. For convenience, I attach a consolidated outline programme for both legs of the trip.
8. If the Secretary of State is prepared to go firm at this stage, at least as far as the Hong Kong part of the trip is concerned, the Governor would like to tell Exco in confidence on Tuesday, 19 April. He may wish to leave confirmation of the Philippine leg for a little longer but it would be helpful to nail down the call on President Aquino fairly soon.
